This has been one of my favourite unofficial Christmas songs since it came out. It’s based on a true story from World War I when German and British soldiers called a truce on Christmas Eve 1914. They started singing songs, and exchanging gifts, instead of shooting each other. So, 95 years later, let us remember that people from different countries or different lifestyles are still people, and generally want the world to be a sane and decent place. Merry Christmas to everybody… I hope you like the song.
This one goes out to troops all over the world, fighting in far off places, who can’t be with their families during the holidays. Although not specifically cancer-related, it’s certainly a worthy dedication.
